Why don’t politicians just write their own campaign songs? — Quartz

Political change has a long history of being driven, at least in part, by music. Songs and lyrics possess a unique power to rally masses, to spark passion. To socially transform. But a John Lennon or Bob Dylan, Donald Trump is not. In his year-long bid for the White House, the Republican presidential candidate has…

Proof that creeps feed on each other

Brad Thor is a pulp fiction writer of the lowest sort, not to be undone by Glenn Beck, sordid little radio has-been from the glory days of hate radio. Seems that Brad said a stupid thing about Donald Trump, and Glenn agreed with him.

The comment was that some brave patriot may need to step up and do the right thing, which may be construed by some neo-fruitcake to mean that the tree of liberty would once again need to be nourished by the blood of patriots and tyrants.

So, Glenn is off SiriusXM for who knows how long. Good riddance. Having guests like Brad should be reserved for men who hang out in public restrooms.

The kind of scum that listens to this garbage might take take this to be a solemn duty. Most of us consider it the lowest form of treason, which it is.

Traitors wrap themselves in flags and suggest all manner of sordid acts to their ignorant folllowers. It is free speech at its worst. SiriusXM would do well to stick to music.

Donald Trump Says Some Teachers Should Have Guns in Classrooms — TIME

In Donald-World, we all strap up to go to schools, and stores, and to the movies. What nonsense. Instead of being safer, we live under the gun from morning to night. And the kids who find guns and accidentally shoot themselves, and others? Collateral damage in Donald-World. There will be losses.

When do the kids walking home get to wear a side-arm? When do we reach the age of gun-bearing? Is this the world we want to leave our kids?

Donald Trump on Sunday said some teachers in the U.S. should be armed with guns inside their classrooms. The presumptive Republican nominee, who was recently endorsed by the National Rifle Association of America, made the comments during a Fox & Friends interview in which he was asked to respond to Hillary Clinton’s remarks about his…

Disproving Our Preconceived Notions of Animal Intelligence

It is time for all of us to realize a fundamental truth about all life on earth. Animals are as conscious as we are, feel pain and suffering just like we do, and deserve to be treated in a different way. This from TruthOut:

De Waal reviews the rise and fall of the view of animals as machines and shows us how animal minds are far more intricate and complex than we have assumed. He challenges our anthropocentric view of humans being at the top of the cognitive and sentience ladder.

Man mauled after entering Chile zoo’s lion pen, 2 cats slain —

We wonder why two big cats had to die because one lunatic got mauled. The cats were not the instigators. Why kill them? Probably because of the mistaken notion that once they taste humans, they become man-eaters, but there is scant evidence of this theory being true. Regardless, every time a lunatic climbs a fence in a zoo, the animals pay the price.

Two lions were killed after they severely mauled a man who stripped naked and entered their enclosure in an apparent suicide attempt early Saturday, authorities said.

What Science Says About the Bathroom Debate — TIME

Want to see a living experiment in what happens when traditional gender lines are truly blurred? Forget North Carolina or Mississippi or any of the places in the U.S. where politicians have made the question of which person uses which bathroom an unlikely cultural flash point. Take a look instead at Samoa—the tiny island nation…
