Nurses and doctors are stretched to the max. They work long hours under extreme pressure, in life and death situations that cause serious issues with depression and anxiety.
States that have been shut down are not making money. They are cash-strapped. That does not mean hospital workers are not overworked. Because of Covid, that will continue for a long time.
Hospitals are not making the money they made pre-Covid, and even then many had small profit margins. Rural hospitals were going under.
The last thing we need are less hospitals with tighter budgets. Congress needs to hold hearings on this.
