The word from the right was that the virus was a hoax, it was just a cold, and it would go away as soon the the election was over. It was a ploy by the lame-stream fake-news media to get Joe Biden elected.
Rose Garden campaign rallies ensued. No one wore a mask. No silly snowflakes here, just real patriots.
Then the patriots started getting sick. Then the President got sick. It made no difference. No one died. The virus really was a hoax, made all the more a lie by a President strutting around on steroids telling everyone he felt great. Let the crowded campaign rallies in states all over the country continue. And they did.
The statistics remained. The numbers of patients with the hoax began to rise. Cold weather and close quarters worked just like the doctors said it would. The hospitals began to fill up.
Now we have a problem. The system cannot accommodate the sick. We don’t have enough beds or health care workers to keep up with the hoax. Doctors fear that health care rationing is looming.
To date, there have been 12.2 million confirmed coronavirus cases in the US and more than 260,000 deaths.
